Here’s a very amusing post by Chris from Marketonomy about why Travelocity Sucks.
For my part I do not travel anywhere near as much as I used to, but I’ve used the online services, including one my company has contracted with, enough to let every travel agent know that they should not lose heart. The online travel industry is the best marketing tool travel agents ever had, and it’s free, and working 24/7 to persuade people to go with a local, real-live-human-being travel agent.
Sure, if you want to fly round trip to Cleveland over a weekend, yeah you can get it arranged without too much grief online. But, as soon as you add anything out of the ordinary look out.
